Current Events for Framingham MRC

Farmers Market with the MRC: The second Thursday of each Month the MRC will have a table at the Farmers Market. Weather permitting in July, August, September and October!

Friday August 11th: Sock Hop! The MRC and Veterans Agent at the Concert on the Green collecting socks for At Risk and Homeless Veterans for Operation Stand Down! (Weather permitting). 

Friday September 8th is Operation Stand Down: Public Health Nurses and MRC Volunteers providing foot care to At Risk and Homeless Veterans in Boston City Plaza. Full Day Event. For registration, please visit

October 28th, 2017 is National Drug Take Back Day. The MRC will partner with the Framingham Police Department.

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of local groups of volunteers committed to improving the health, safety and resiliency of their communities. Volunteers include medical and nonmedical individuals. Please consider joining the Framingham MRC and helping to make Framingham a safer and more prepared community. MRC Volunteer Application

The application can be mailed, scanned and emailed, or dropped off at the Framingham Board of Health (31 Flagg Drive in the rear of the Fuller School). The law requires that all MRC Volunteers also sign a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Record Information (SORI) form. Please print and return both forms. Your photograph will be taken for your badge when the completed forms are returned. Effective January 1st, 2017, the Framingham volunteers database will be maintained in office and no longer in MAResponds. 

Get Ready for Home Emergencies

Only 7% of Americans are adequately prepared for an emergency. Natural disasters, disease outbreaks and other hazards can occur at any time. September is National Get Ready Month. Have a "texting drill", to help get ready. For more info on getting ready for emergencies go to the American Public Health Association's website.

Sesame Workshop, along with its project partners, has created Let’s Get Ready! A video about planning together for emergencies with tips, activities, and other easy tools to help the whole family prepare for emergencies!
